Using a C-Mount Lens with a CS-Mount Camera

Can I use a C-Mount Lens with my CS-Mount Camera?

Yes, A C-Mount lens can be used with a CS-Mount Camera with the use of a 5mm spacer.

The C-mount specification requires a 17.5mm distance from the lens mounting surface to focus on the cameras sensor (CCD or CMOS). The CS-mount specifications requires a 12.5mm distance from the lens mounting surface to focus on the cameras sensor. By adding the 5mm spacer to a CS-Mount Camera you in effect produce the required 17.5mm focal distance that all C-Mount Lenses are designed for.

Important note: CS-Mount Lenses CANNOT be used with C-Mount Cameras!
